CZ Scorpion Magazines

CZ Scorpion magazines are built for a 9mm platform that serves range shooters, home-defense owners and buyers who want dependable spare magazines for a compact carbine or large-format pistol. This collection includes factory CZ-USA magazines and aftermarket options from Magpul, ProMag and ETS. Available configurations cover standard box magazines, extended-capacity magazines and drum magazines, giving owners several ways to match capacity, construction and handling preferences to their firearm.

The current selection includes 20- and 30-round CZ Scorpion 3 Plus magazines, a 35-round Magpul PMAG, a 40-round ProMag box magazine and 30- or 50-round ProMag drum magazines. Smoke-finish ETS 30- and 40-round listings may also be available as stock changes. Before ordering any CZ Scorpion magazine, confirm the firearm generation, magazine-catch design, desired capacity and the laws that apply at the shipping destination.

Which CZ Scorpion Magazines Are Available in This Collection?

The range covers several capacities for different setups. A lower-capacity magazine may suit bench shooting, zeroing, storage or locations with capacity limits. Extended CZ Scorpion mags reduce reload frequency during lawful range practice, while drums trade added size and weight for higher capacity.

Which Factory CZ Scorpion 3 Plus Magazines Can You Choose?

The factory options include black CZ-USA magazines for the Scorpion 3 Plus in 20- and 30-round capacities. These are 9mm Luger magazines made for the updated 3+ magazine-catch system. CZ states that its 3+ magazines are backward compatible with the earlier Scorpion EVO 3, which makes these factory models a sensible starting point for buyers who want broad fitment within the CZ platform.

The 20-round CZ Scorpion 3 Plus magazine offers a shorter profile that can be easier to manage from a bench, inside a case or when working in a compact shooting position. The 30-round version adds capacity while retaining the familiar box-magazine shape. Buyers searching for an OEM CZ Scorpion magazine should compare these two choices based on local rules, intended use and preferred handling.

Which Aftermarket CZ Scorpion Magazines Are Listed?

Aftermarket options expand the capacity and construction choices. The Magpul PMAG 35 EV9 is a 35-round, 9x19mm polymer magazine made for the CZ Scorpion EVO 3 family. Its product design includes a high-visibility follower, capacity indicator windows, an impact-resistant floorplate and a body that can be disassembled for cleaning. The collection also lists a 40-round ProMag CZ Scorpion magazine made with a polymer body, molded follower and heat-treated chrome-silicon spring.

ETS Carbon Smoke magazines add translucent 30- and 40-round choices when available. Their smoke-finish bodies allow a quick visual check of ammunition remaining without relying only on witness holes.

Which CZ Scorpion Drum Magazine Options Are Offered?

Buyers looking for a CZ Scorpion drum magazine can compare ProMag 30- and 50-round models. The 30-round black polymer drum is more compact than a 50-round design while keeping the drum format. The 50-round selections include black and FDE variants, with a polymer housing, reinforced upper tower, molded follower and heat-treated spring listed among the product features.

A drum is not the best choice for every owner. Its width and loaded weight can affect balance, storage and pouch fit. Test any defensive magazine with the exact firearm and lawful ammunition before relying on it. Many owners retain box magazines for routine range work.

How Do EVO 3 and Scorpion 3 Plus Magazine Fitment Differ?

Compatibility deserves close attention because “CZ Scorpion magazine” can refer to more than one magazine-catch pattern. The Scorpion 3 Plus introduced an AR-style magazine release and uses magazines with the required side catch cut. CZ’s 3+ factory magazines are designed for the updated firearm and are also backward compatible with the earlier EVO 3. Older EVO-only magazines may not lock into a 3+ firearm.

Do not judge fit from caliber and general shape alone. Confirm that the product description names the exact model you own, especially when shopping for a CZ Scorpion EVO 3 magazine, a CZ Scorpion 3 Plus magazine or an aftermarket drum. Some products state EVO 3 compatibility but do not state 3+ compatibility. The safest approach is to match the manufacturer’s fitment statement and item number to the firearm before purchase.

Why Should the Magazine Catch and Generation Be Checked?

A magazine can enter the magwell yet still fail to lock, feed or drop free as intended if the catch geometry is wrong. The 3+ catch cut is therefore more important than appearance. Avoid altering a magazine body to force compatibility. Modification may weaken the body, change retention or remove manufacturer support. Choosing a magazine already made for the correct generation gives the owner a clearer fitment path.

What Capacity Should You Select for a CZ Scorpion 9mm Magazine?

Capacity changes the height, weight and handling of a CZ Scorpion 9mm magazine. Selection depends on the firearm, intended use and local restrictions.

When Does a 20- or 30-Round Magazine Make Sense?

A 20-round magazine keeps a lower profile and can be convenient for controlled range work, transport and shooting from supported positions. A 30-round CZ Scorpion magazine provides more ammunition without moving into the longer body of a 35- or 40-round model. These factory-size options also suit owners who prefer OEM parts and clear model identification.

For home-defense planning, capacity is only one factor. Reliable lockup, proven feeding and safe storage matter more than selecting the highest number. Number, inspect and test defensive magazines so any problem can be traced to a specific unit.

When Do 35- or 40-Round Scorpion Mags Fit the Need?

The 35-round Magpul PMAG 35 EV9 and 40-round ProMag or ETS magazines reduce the number of reloads during longer range sessions. These extended CZ Scorpion magazines can also provide more gripping surface during removal, but the longer body may require different pouches and more case space. Check whether the magazine interferes with a bench, support bag or shooting position before settling on an extended format.

When Is a 50-Round Drum Worth Considering?

A 50-round CZ Scorpion drum magazine offers the highest capacity presently represented in the collection. It may suit lawful recreational shooting or a buyer who specifically wants a drum configuration. In return, it adds bulk, weight and more internal parts than a box magazine. Owners should follow the manufacturer’s loading and cleaning directions, avoid overloading and confirm dependable function before regular use.

What Construction Features Matter in a CZ Scorpion Magazine?

The magazine body, feed area, follower, spring and floorplate all affect service life and handling. Polymer bodies keep weight down and can absorb ordinary impacts, but they should still be checked for cracks, swelling or damaged locking surfaces. Reinforced feed lips or upper towers can add support where cartridges are presented to the firearm.

Followers should move freely without binding. Springs should provide consistent upward pressure, and floorplates should remain secure after cleaning or impact. Indicator windows or translucent bodies help estimate remaining ammunition, but they do not replace a physical status check performed with the firearm pointed in a safe direction and handled according to established safety rules.

How Do Factory and Aftermarket Magazines Compare?

Factory CZ Scorpion magazines offer OEM fitment and straightforward identification. Aftermarket magazines provide other capacities, finishes, body designs and price points. Magpul focuses on a 35-round polymer box magazine, ProMag covers 40-round box and 30- or 50-round drum formats, and ETS offers translucent smoke magazines in 30- and 40-round capacities when stocked.

Production tolerances, wear, ammunition and maintenance can affect function. Look for cracked feed lips, chips around the magazine catch, a damaged floorplate, dirt inside the body or a follower that does not travel smoothly. Clean the magazine according to its manufacturer’s directions and keep oil away from ammunition and internal surfaces unless the instructions call for a specific lubricant.

Do not stretch springs or reshape feed lips as routine maintenance.
